Karma Sonam Dargye Ling (KSDL) Tibetan Buddhist Temple, charitable registration number 118977867 RR0001,  is the Canadian Seat of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje of the Karma Kagyu lineage, founded in 1976 by the Venerable Lama Namse Rinpoche.  The Resident Lama is Lama Tenzin Dakpa. We are a Vajrayana Dharma Centre offering meditation classes and deity practice such as Green Tara, White Tara, Chenrezig, Medicine Buddha and Chod. We also offer weekly Calm Abiding Classes, Buddhist teachings and annual retreats. We are located at 12 Maynard Ave., Toronto, Canada, M6K 2Z9. We welcome all of those interested in meditation and Tibetan Buddhism to all of our activities.

We regret to inform you that due to the coronavirus pandemic the KSDL Tibetan Heritage & Language Camp has been cancelled for the 2020 season.
Karma Sonam Dargye Ling sponsors an annual 7-week summer camp for children ages 7 and up. The camp takes place daily from 9 am to 3 pm, five days a week. From Monday to Thursday the campers study the Tibetan language, music, dance and meditation at Alexander Muir Public School, and on Fridays they enjoy outdoor excursions such as trips to High Park and swimming at Sunnyside pool.

Lama Loga, a devoted disciple of His Holiness the Karmapa, was a constant presence at KSDL pujas for many years now, and joined us (and enjoyed very much) the Chod retreat last year at Georgian Bay with Khenpo Tsulnam Rinpoche, has passed away. We shall miss him very much.  Please remember this gentle, kind, and devoted Lama in your prayers.

TEACHING BY LAMA TENZIN
The Bodhicaryavatara, which translates in English to “A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life,” is an ancient text composed by Shantideva, renowned Buddhist monk and scholar who lived at the Nalanda Monastic University in India. The Bodhicaryavatara presents methods to harmonize one’s life with the Bodhisattva ideal, and inspires the practitioner to cultivate the perfections of the Bodhisattva: generosity, ethics, patience, strenuous endeavour, meditative concentration, and wisdom. This six-session teaching will take place on six consecutive Saturdays from 2 pm to 4 pm. Dates to be announced. TIBETAN LANGUAGE CLASSES

KSDL offers weekly drop-in Tibetan Language classes, taught by Lama Samten, which will resume when KSDL reopens to the public. An Introduction to the Tibetan Alphabet class is scheduled to take place on Saturdays from 11:30 to 12:30, and, for those with a rudimentary understanding of the Tibetan alphabet, a more advanced class is scheduled for Sundays from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. These classes will run weekly whenever Green Tara or White Tara is scheduled. Open to new and experienced students alike, the Tibetan Language classes are tailored to suit the needs of every individual, and cover both conversational Tibetan and Tibetan Buddhist Dharma terminology.
